README.TXT file for archive kings-valley-vampire-killer-wav.zip

containing the files "valleygm2400.wav" and "vampire-killer-2400.wav",
representing audio images of the video games "King's Valley" and
"Vampire Killer" produced by Konami, to be fed to the GR8BIT serial port.

Conversion is created by Eugeny Brychkov on November 08, 2013, for
GR8BIT project's educational purposes.

Usage:

Step 1:	upload WAV file to your handheld device, smartphone or PC,
connect your device to the GR8BIT through serial (cassette)
port - (pin 2 ground, pin 5 input).

Step 2:	at the GR8BIT's BASIC prompt, type the following respective
	command, and press enter key.

	- For King's Valley, type BLOAD"CAS:",R

	- For Vampire Killer, type RUN"CAS:"
On system start, please disable GR8BIT storage subsystem by
holding "0" and "1" keyboard keys simultaneously until GR8BIT
displays "ROM was not installed" message.

Step 3:	play respective WAV file using media player into the GR8BIT's
serial port. King's Valley load time is approximately 1m27s.
Vampire Killer load time is approximately 14m:47s.

NOTICE:
- initial ROM image of the King's Valley was first converted to the
binary executable file (VALLEY.GM, author of conversion is unknown, was done
back in 1986), then converted to .CAS file using BlueMSX emulator, then .CAS
file was converted to WAV file using CAS2WAV.
- already chunked Vampire Killer executable code was used (KILLER.X), loader
was rewritten to satisfy requirements of cassette port. Then saves to virtual
tape using BlueMSX, and then converted to WAV file using CAS2WAV.

IMPORTANT: While conversion to MP3 format will save a space, it may introduce
non-audible distortion and noise to the square waveform and application may
not load properly. GR8BIT is designed and tested to accept waveform at 2400
baud rate; other MSX computers are not guaranteed to properly load enclosed
audio image.
